Hobbies

I have many hobbies. My favourite hobbies are watching  films and series. I also
love to collect some stuff since I was a child.

The first ones are stamps from around the world. It is amazing to see old stamps from the 1960's and stamps from Brazil,Japan, the USA, Egypt, Germany, England and so forth. I had forgotten that  I have stamps from the Olympic Games of 1992 and other one 2004. I love to see stamps of birds, flowers, historical facts, famous, places, etc.

The second are shells, but only when  there is no animal inside. There was a funny fact that happened many years ago. I took a shell on the sand. When my hubby and I  were almost onto the sideways, I felt something "poking" my finger. I saw the black claw of the little resident. So,we came back to the sea and put the shell in the sea.

The third hobby is to collect mugs.  I have many mugs that I got as presents and some in bought from many sizes. I like the small Santander Claus mug that I put on the table on Christmas Holidays.

Undoubtedly my favourite hobby is to collect stamps. Many of them I got from friends who got letters and knew I collect  them. So, as I love writing letter since I was a child, when got letters at home I always wanted the stamps. My family us from Portugal and I have many stpsychology from there.

So, I would like to know what is your hobby. It is great to share our likes.

Wishing you a lovely week!

Finishing Old Projects

Hello everyone and visitors!   I have been knitting lately. I Finally I finished a beret for my daughter and a hat for a friend. The weather is peefect for knitting because it's too cold for us.
I decided to finish all the hibernating works. I had the courage to start steaming the squares I started last year. The biggest problem is that i don't know how to match the colours. I have the same problem with the ribbons. So, if you can help me with this issue, please feel free to give ideas about it.
Wishing a great week to everybody!

This is the first beret I have done. It wasn't easy to knit it, but I finished after do and undo.

This is a gift for a friend.

My bed is this way, full of squares and no idea how to finish my small blanket.

My birthday

We are on the second day of winter and it's very cold here in Santos. The temperature is about 11°C in the afternoons.

Today is my birthday since I'm turning 58 andI say I'm 13 years old, which is the sum of 5 plus 8. When I was a child, I thought I shouldn't go to school because it was a holiday.  It is strange and funny. Today I have classes and I'm going to be with my family at night. I will make a Brazilian cake called "Nega Maluca" or "Crazy Black Woman" after the class.

Wishing you a nice week. I hope the referendum will bring you all the best for everyone.

WIP - Beret

Finally it stopped raining, but it is too cold to us. The temperature is about 13° C and the sun came out! It is so cold that I have to wear mittens and a hat to keep warm outside.
My hands are tough to knit, maily after wash the dishes. So, I have to warm them before knitting, but the weather is perfect for this activity. While knitting I'm watching "Matilda and the Ramsay Bunch on tv. I'm a big fan of hers! She is definitely great!!
I haven't taken pictures because my mobile is so bad and the quality is very poor. However,  I have some old pictures to post.
Wishing you a lovely weekend!

The baby was born and we gave the presents. He is so cute!

New Project

I decided to post on Saturdays and this way I will not be so absent to post and visit bloggers friends.
Here it's the cake I've made on my daughter's birthday. It's a sponge cake with pinapple and coconut fillings, or your preference filling. On the top there are chocolate truffle or the Brazilian Brigadeiro.

My daughter asked me to make a hat for a trip she is going to take. So, after weeks looking for a pattern i finally found one that I liked and it is not difficult to knit.

Meanwhile I have made my first panettone,  but the yeast isn't good and it didn't double as expected. This is the first time Imake this recipe, so if i like it i am going to post the recipe. Unfortunately I have to remake it with a good yeast.

This is the hotel my gramma worked in the 1920's. Atlântico Hotel in Santos.

I took this photo when there was an exbition of old cars in Santos. This car is beautiful!
